As I sit here and think over all God has done for Foundations Church the last 3 years, nothing could have prepared me for where we are now. We are a young church, full of different people. We have a purpose, a place, and a vision. We have a mission to change the “too far gone” to “found with new hope”. As I think about what we are doing now, I am speechless. This is where we are Foundations Church—we’re home. We’re talking about home. For so long we’ve be fortunate enough to call Memorial High School our “temporary home”. It has given us a place to stand for 3 years but not given us the ground to really lay down our roots. And that’s exactly the point. It was temporary. We went into this knowing that forever at Memorial would not do. We knew the time would come where eventually, everything would fall into place and we would have the ability to have a place of our own.

Over the last several months, many of you have given your time and effort to demolition. You made messes. You tore our sheetrock. You tore out insulation. You cleaned messes you probably didn’t make yourselves! You showed up early and stayed late. You gave your whole heart to your church. Before when you would walk into our building, you saw a big mess. You saw a huge space with no walls. Now, oh now Foundations Church, you can see a bright future down every hallway. In the sanctuary you can envision the numerous chairs filling the floor and the band center stage; you can imagine children running up and down the hallways, laughing and playing; you can see the friendly faces of our volunteers teaching the children and their bright faces lit with the light of the future. This is why we bought a building. This is why we did this: for the future people that will fill those seats and classrooms. This is why we do what we do. This is our vision. This is what God has spoken to us. God is doing something completely new and exciting! Something we’ve never seen before and He is making a way for us, for His church. Foundations Church, prepare your hearts to take in the lost and the lonely, the hurt and the broken, because we are not just for the healed and whole. We’re about providing an atmosphere for change to occur and make a LASTING affect on people. This is our church. This is what we’re here for. Get ready because this is the very thing that will happen.

We have some pictures up to show you the improvements that are happening day in and day out each day. Shannon has been working every moment he has on this building. Our staff has been working the last couple Mondays helping clean up and organize. It’s time to get ready Church! We’ll be in this building before you know it and what are you going to do? Wait to invite someone? No, no, no. Start now. Start inviting now. Make a difference now!

-We are the proud owners of a puppy. The surprise: Charli and Chloe had no idea! The girls have wanted a puppy for a while and to surprise them with one was great!

-We setup a tent in the gameroom with Maximus Yoda Graves (yes that is the name the girls picked out! NO LIE!). The girls definitely got him tired quick and waited until he woke up for more Graves’ girls play time. That little guy needs a LOT of sleep to keep up with our girls!

-Casey had a great evening with the Staff wives on Friday night. We're so thankful to be surrounded by amazing people with a passion for Foundations Church. Thank you to Sandy, Alissa, Robin and Dara. Casey and I are thankful for you!

-Sunday morning... Man, God keeps moving in our church! Worship was awesome. Our band is so awesome. They are volunteers who, week in and week out, setup the stage and work through their practice time so our time of worship is full and passionate. I am incredibly thankful for such an awesome group!

-If you didn't get a chance to sign up to serve in an area of the church... CALL US! EMAIL US! We're here and want you to feel connected to your church. We want to have the best Kids and Youth ministry, the best greeters and ushers, the best audio/visual and setup and tear down team. We can't get to that place without you. We need your help. Be praying about getting involved in an area of ministry and we'll get you plugged in.

-WORK NIGHT AT THE NEW FOUNDATIONS CHURCH… We need your help on Wednesday night at 6:30 pm at the building. We have a TON to do. If you have experience with tape and bedding sheetrock, painting, building shelving units, cutting piping, cutting out rubber mold, or laying flooring…WE NEED YOU. If you don’t have any experience in these specific areas, WE STILL NEED YOU! There is cleanup that needs to happen in about every area of the church. Come out Wednesday night and bring your tools and we’ll get this stuff moving!

-THIS SUNDAY... SUPERBOWL SUNDAY. We have a great Sunday planned. We are starting our new sermon series “The Family” and talking about “The Hit” and what it means to fight as a family. We’re expecting tons of visitors and would love to pack out our auditorium for our last Superbowl Sunday at Memorial High School. Remember: we’re giving away a 55 inch flat screen, 3D TV to one visitor…SO INVITE PEOPLE TO COME WITH YOU! This is what we’re about Foundations Church. Inviting loved ones, family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors! Invite them all! There is a place for them at Foundations Church. Invite, invite, invite!

Man, I hope you have an awesome week and I’ll see you on Sunday, dressed in your TEAM GEAR (yes…you heard me! Any team you want, could be college or NFL or WHATEVER SPORT YOU LOVE… Rep it this Sunday) ready for a great service at Foundations!
